The Ruby Deluxe
This award-winning rolling work of art was designed by world-renowned tattoo artist and Art Deco aficionado “Bugs” and the principals at Hollywood Hot Rods. “Bugs” also commissioned the build.
Ruby Deluxe” started life as a 1935 Ford humpback sedan, Hollywood Hot Rods reworked the entire car to convert it to a sleek art-deco 3 window coupe. The interior continues the Art Deco influences and the same high degree of craftsmanship that is exhibited throughout this unique car. The dash is a one-off fabrication by Hollywood Hot Rods, it houses an early Chrysler gauge cluster with a 1941 Mercury clock. The interior is made further notable by the Art Deco look seen in the knobs, center console, ignition bezel, key, brake pedal, shift-knob and handles that were designed by “Bugs.”
The custom upholstery was created by David Martinez; early Ford Mustang bucket seats were redesigned and utilized. The interior was designed to complete a "three-dimensional interior upholstery."
It was awarded the 2010 the Good Guys “Kustom of the Year” award, and featured in multiple magazines throughout Japan and the US.
