Powell 1936 Ford
This 1936 Ford was started at another shop. However, the owner was unhappy with the results of the 'chopped top.' After further work on the car was halted, the owner contacted David Martinez asking if he could not only finish the work needed but also repair the chop. After a few conversations and negotiations the car was loaded up and sent to California from Texas.
The car is nearing completion and will be ready to return to Texas soon. The entire project is taking longer than both David and the owner planned. Yet, it will be worth it in the long run. Instead of cutting corners most of the car has been recreated with new steel which has been hand shaped as can be seen in the first slide show.
While at Martinez Industries Co, this 1936 Ford will:
*Have the chop completely reworked
*Doors repaired to fit the new chop
* A handmade roof insert to return the 'top' to the 'curved' shape instead of flat
*other body modifications
And more.... Please check back often to see the continuation of this car
Thank you to vehicle owners Billy & Connie Powell for trusting us with this amazing and difficult project.
